Before I get into today’s inspiration, let me just quickly update you on where I am and what I have planned for the year ahead. Some of you asked if I’m still going to perform and do live concerts, and the quick answer to that is YES YES YES

I am doing a lot more writing and coaching than ever in my life, but that’s because now I have the time that I would have normally spent on the road traveling to gigs.

Sometime last year, I came across the book by Marci Alboher called One Person/Multiple Careers: The Original Guide to the Slash Careers. It’s officially a thing!

An article in Forbes magazine clarifies that “people with slash careers are those making multiple income streams simultaneously from different careers” and points out how that’s been a thing with creatives for a long time, only now it’s been given a name 🙂

I always had a slash career.

Musician/Actress. Or Musician/Producer/Theater Owner/Teacher/ Playwright.

Now it’s a musician/writer/life coach.

My brand is music+story+coaching for well-being with a mission to provide inspiration and support for navigating life’s constant changes and transitions. (Scroll down to take a peek into some of the projects I’m preparing for you in 2021!)

I’m passionate about my work. I love pursuing an idea, making it happen and seeing how it makes an impact on people. I love shooting for the moon and the stars (that way I know at least I have a chance of reaching the top of a tree 😉)

I’ve been driven by the same passion since I was 15 (that’s 35 years). Through my youth, through my pregnancies, and while raising my three sons, I never slowed down.

And through it all, I learned the importance of Well-Being. It took a few breakdowns before I really understood what well-being, self-care, mind-body-spirit truly meant.

Sometimes it’s as simple as getting more sleep, eating better, or spending a little bit more time in silence, prayer, and meditation.

Sometimes we need to do a good assessment and if a specific area of our lives is really out of alignment – like health or a relationship, or finances – we might need to ask for help from a medical professional, a therapist, a coach, or an advisor.

Sometimes it’s a mindset shift.

Here is one I recently learned and already implemented (it’s great, and it works!)…

When you hear yourself saying ‘I’m too busy to take a walk/talk to a friend/make a healthy meal/etc…’ or ‘That was such a busy day, I’m exhausted!’ replace ‘busy’ with ‘productive and fulfilling.’

The sense of overwhelm that usually comes with ‘too busy’ makes us feel we have no time for anything else, and no control over it.

When you switch those words, everything changes. “I had such a busy day” becomes “I had a productive and fulfilling day.” A ‘busy’ mom becomes a ‘productive and fulfilled’ mom.

Yes, she is still tired, but I bet the changed attitude takes off some of the burden and replaces it with gratitude, and she can sleep better 🙂

✨ How is your current state of well-being?

✨ What do you need support with?

In answer to those questions, here is some inspiration for you..

Story

My heart was waiting patiently

While I struggled

And wrestled with my thoughts

I don’t know heart,

You know better,

what should we ask Love for?

Peace… Love…

Happiness… those

I already have.

I only have to place my hand on my chest

breathe Love in

And Peace is there.

More love I can’t ask for,

Love grows

She can’t be less. She is always more.

Happiness? Being here

Listening to my heart,

Talking to Love – is what happy looks like.

I’ll ask for work. Paying work.

Work that will help someone

And work that will bless me

Sounds good, the heart said

I bowed my head

Love, this is my desire, I prayed.

And Love answered back

Now release it to me

Let me organize it

I paused. Release?

Let go? I felt unsure

Trust me, I don’t have limitations like you.

Trust.

My thoughts rebelled:

Ask Love when? How?

My heart waited,

Are you done?

Shush now. Be still

Trust

Love

Music

This week, I’m bringing back the beautiful “The Prayer” song and video. Just listen and let your heart guide you to trust.
